The Acromnia Orbital Hotel: Immersive space accommodation in photos

Earlier in February, design studio–Acromnia unveiled a new project in the works, the Acromnia Orbital Hotel, in an Instagram post.

“It’s a visionary concept exploring living beyond Earth—seeking new experiences to redefine our reality,” described the company in another social media post.

The firm also noted that the concept of emergence inspires the modules. The structure is made of hexahedron, enabling seamless integration into larger systems.

The main purpose of the hotel is to cater to space travel, which provides a unique experience with its shape-shifting architectural approach, accommodating the occupants’ requirements.

'Our approach to the design eschews earthly artifacts and habits'
The space project will comprise autonomous units operating independently or as part of a bigger collective network. This will also allow for integration into larger systems and encourage new connections and exploration, according to Designboom.  Acromnia explained the design process, “When designing the interior of our hotel, we perceive humans as the paramount payload, destined for orbit.” “Our approach to the design eschews earthly artifacts and habits, discarding the trappings of furniture and other household objects, as well as usual devices for entertaining and recreation. so, we have stripped away such superfluities to unveil an interior centered solely around the individual,” added the Instagram post.

Acromnia also said that they did not aim to create a static interior but, instead, a space immersed in an environment that constantly adapts to one's needs. “A space devoid of partitions, furniture, doors, or other elements that humans typically perceive as inhabitation.” The design studio emphasized: “Here, we speculate on the concept of creating a responsive material with intelligent properties that shape the space, crafting partitions and structures for all the inhabitant’s unique needs.”

Since its launch, the digital studio’s laboratory has been brainstorming and experimenting with the interaction between different materials, spaces, interiors, and architecture. They record the reactions of design synthesis using existing technologies. For instance, Acromnia’s first Instagram post noted these technologies, including “integrating human thought into neural network algorithms, we offer concepts and solutions for collaborations with brands, an alternative look at design and objects.”
